On October 4, 1975, wrestling was changed forever when a single engine plane crashed in Wilmington, NC. The crash ended the careers of 2 wrestlers including US Heavyweight Champion Johnny Valentine. 2 other wrestlers on the plane, Ric Flair and Tim Woods(Aka Mr. Wrestling) were able to continue to careers and Flair went on to become a 16 time World Champion widely regarded as the greatest of all time. What if Ric Flair’s career had ended after the plane crash? How would wrestling be different today? Which great superstars would’ve never been inspired to pursue wrestling because they never saw the Nature Boy?
